If the drive is relatively old (it doesn't support automatic bad-block remapping), then it's probably approaching the end of serviceable life. If the drive is newer (and has automatic remapping), then the situation is probably even worse. New drives allocate a certain percentage of space to handle the problem. If you're starting to see error, then the spare space has already been used up, and the drive is probably dying rapidly. =2D-=20 Kirk Strauser In Googlis non est, ergo non est. --=-=-= Content-Type: application/pgp-signature -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQA+UmLP5sRg+Y0CpvERAo2sAJ9c11vWcJjkLHGVOzUt20av/F+vLgCfSToI aOp/sTeEgCCn4G9PjaYT3x4= =gNy+ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-=-=-- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
