Nothing, really - it's just a fault of the 2.1-RELEASE installer which has since been fixed. If you do this: mount -t isofs /dev/cd0a /cdrom_real cd /cdrom ln -s /cdrom_real/{floppies,packages,ports,dists/*} . assuming, of course, that both /cdrom and /cdrom_real are somewhere actually accessible by ftp, it will work.
