You need to rebuild your kernel with these options: options CLK_CALIBRATION_LOOP options CLK_USE_I8254_CALIBRATION options CLK_USE_TSC_CALIBRATION This should fix it up. At least it brought my bad ticker to be good enough that NTP could sync it.
