Well, er, ahem, I did NOT learn about FreeBSD from the freebsd site=20
:-)

Hmmm,=20
<...recalling...>
<other books/magazines/quotations snipped>
I read Greg's "The Complete FreeBSD"; I thourougly examined the=20
FreeBSD site. I found it contains excellent (as well as excellently=20
written) documentation.

I am afraid a good number of people have probably visited the site=20
*after* reading some (more or less learned) *written* stuff. Perhaps,=20
in this connection, a little marketing might help. Extreme case: M$ is=20
a MS, ie rather than an operating system, it is a Marketing System...=20
:-)

FWIW, I think FreeBSD should target on advanced to professional users=20
(ie, if I may say so, both on the workstation and server areas, with=20
greater emphasis on the server side). Or even on power users=20
**willing** to learn. BTW, my understanding is that the user basis has=20
been steadily growing.

<jokingly quoting>
Nowadays, "progress" seems to consist in passing from dumb terminals=20
in front of smart users to dumb users in front of smart terminals.
</jokingly quoting>

Best regards,
Salvo
