I have a FreeBSD 2.2.7 machine running X windows. You will need to go
through the configuration (/stand/sysinstall, C - Configure, Page down - X -
Configure Xfree86). The biggest thing to make sure you know when
configuring X is what type of monitor and video card you have. Make sure
you have the specs on those 2 things. If you can't find the specs on your
monitor go to www.xfree86.org. They have links to some good monitor
databases. Once you have it configured. Make sure you can run startx from
the console.

At this point you can use a X Windows client to access the box via X.

I use Reflections X. You can download an eval copy for WRQ. It's good for
60 days. I believe it works on 95 and NT. I think it retails for $500 ish.

Ray

PS. I have just this week gotten X to work. Please feel free to ask
questions. I'm still a newbie at this also.
