For todays needs, /var and /tmp are much too small with the standard calculations of the label editor. Mail.local and sendmail need at least place for one message. Now messages with 15 MByte size flow around and also large postscript images created by i.e. powerpoint fill print spool buffers very quickly. So hard disks with 8 GByte it is not possible to print simple powerpoint files or mail them. Mail.local uses a hard coded /tmp, /tmp is on the root partiton with only 10 MByte free. -- Fritz Heinrichmeyer mailto:fritz.heinrichmeyer@fernuni-hagen.de FernUniversitaet Hagen, LG ES, 58084 Hagen (Germany) tel:+49 2331/987-1166 fax:987-355 http://ES-i2.fernuni-hagen.de/~jfh To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
