Actually, for binaries aka java, javac the soft link should work just fin= e.=20 The CLASSPATH variable only comes into play when actually executing class= =20 files within the JVM, thus, the variable really has nothing to do with bi= nary=20 execution.=20 Many Java applications require the JAVA_HOME variable to be set to run=20 properly.
