Steve, FreeBSD includes FTP and Sendmail and POP daemons with the base installation. You can simply enable these services during installation. These base services all use the same user account database (/etc/passwd), so there is no need to duplicate user setup. <disclaimer> I am sure other list subscribers will recommend alternatives for these services, but I have always found these simple defaults to work very well, and to enjoy vast support in the community. </disclaimer> > I am in the process of converting all of my windows servers to BSD > and would like to get all of my domains transferred over as soon as > possible. As I said before, FreeBSD has FTP "built in". > My email system is a future concern at this point, but any > instruction on a pop daemon that can be used with a referred control > panel would be appreciated. Hmmm - I'm not sure what you mean by a "control panel". But, again, FreeBSD includes "popper" by default. If I am not mistaken, "popper" is based on Qualcom's qpopper which is virtually the de-facto standard POP daemon of the planet, much as Sendmail is for MTAs. <insert previous disclaimer> :) > Thank you, > Steve Bertrand I hope this helps.
