Well let me know.. > > BYE > > GOPI. Being in a place where power cuts are common when it rains... I can tell you what has happened to this server in those occasions... during the boot process, it warns you that there are some files kinda... unlocated... or maybe that the owner is lost... or that there are some pieces of files that cant be recovered... it asks you if you want to fix it... as the file systems themselves... I usually do a fsck on the various partitions to see if there is anything too bad there... after that, the worse thing that can happen is that you miss a fwe files... *grin* maybe a binary or two... depends on luck I guess... nothing serious has happened here ever... I guess the system can recover... me not know... the server is still running... after the winter rains... of course, the hard disk drive is developing bad sectors I guess, cuz now we cant do a decent find / -name file without the server crashing or freezing to which the only thing left to do is... reset... *shrug* > -- ************************************* * Marco Antonio Barbosa Santoyo * * Facultad de Ciencias, U.A.B.C. * * Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico * ************************************* To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
