After upgrading to php5-5.2.7 (on different machines) applications like mediawiki-1.13.2, joomla-1.x and typo3-4.2.2. are broken with different error messages. After replacing php5-5.2.7 with php5-2.5.6_2 and manually installing php5-pcre-5.2.6_2 everything is fine again.
