Hope I'm making > since! I don't know if you can get xfce while running from a live CD unless whoever made the live CD put it on there. but, it is available for FreeBSD, no problem. Just install the latest FreeBSD on your machine. Then install xfce from the ports (/usr/ports/x11-wm/xfce). You will need to configure it and then set up your xinitrc so it will start xfce when you enter the startx command.
