Well, not "lost" as such -- "deleted".

The entire 12.X branch was declared EOL as of 20231231.  This had been
announced some time previously.

The documentation page you're citing is simply out-of-date.  If you look at
the "supported releases" you will not find 12.X.

The commit in question is on 20140102:=20
