I know the PCI card works, because booting a Linux live CD, I do not have any issues connecting to my access point or transmitting data. Here's what I get in dmesg: ath0: mem 0xfdee0000-0xfdeeffff irq 16 at device 4.0 on pci2 ar5212ChipTest: address test failed addr: 0x00008000 - wr:0x00000000 != rd:0xffffffff ar5212Attach: hardware self-test failed ath0: unable to attach hardware; HAL status 14 device_attach: ath0 attach returned 6 Running pciconf -r ath0 at pci0:2:4:0 0:255 yields 001b168c 02900406 02000001 00002008 fdee0000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00005001 500111ad 00000000 00000044 00000000 1c0a0110 00000000 01c20001 c6004000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 I've intended to use amd64, but I've got the same problem with 9.0-RELEASE i386 as well as a 10-CURRENT (both amd64 and i386) from the beginning of November. I've started a thread titled "ath0: unable to attach hardware" in each freebsd-wireless@ and freebsd-current@; these threads do contain more information which might be relevant (unfortunately I can't tell relevant from uninteresting information in this case). A good starting point may be this mail: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-current/2012-November/037505.html Adrian suggested that the problem is a "PCI-PCI bridge resource allocation / setup problem". I'd be glad if you let me know in case you need further data or want me to test possible fixes. >How-To-Repeat: The problem occurs everytime I boot FreeBSD. >Fix: >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted:
