Certain other OSes have the tendency to replace the MBR or do other nasty things to your disk when you install them. Using the install floppy, you can boot from the drive or partition to restore booteasy or the boot loader, and at this point, a reminder of the options will be definitly useful, as you can't just enter 'man boot' :-) So booting from something different than the floppy is indeed useful, and any help will certainly appreciated, as the alternative would be to re-install.
