Because 5.8.x != 5.10.x. Because it is different branch of perl. In the nearest time I plan to: - rename lang/perl5 to lang/perl5.6 - add lang/perl5.10 - switch to perl5.10 as default perl version (in bsd.perl.mk) only after 5.10.1 will be released (or maybe even later) - (maybe) create meta-port lang/perl5 (like lang/python do) -- Sergey Skvortsov mailto: skv@protey.ru
