hello out there: i am having trouble accessing files and directories on mounted floppies and cdroms. for instance, after mounting the cdrom, i can see the top level with the ls command, but i cannot cd into any of the directories. when i try, i get this: "bin: No such file or directory." this is true of the cdrom, floppy drive, and zip drive. i can access these drives by using the makedev command in the dev directory (./MAKEDEV fd0), and then trying to get to the files and dir's, but i have to do this every time i start freebsd. i'm pretty sure i shouldn't have to do this. i putzed around in the kernal configuration file, but to be honest, i don't really know what i am looking for. any suggestions? -thanks aaron "My motto is: do it my way or watch your butt." -Nathan Arizona To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
