I'd like to see this change reverted for the following reasons: - On systems that already had fam installed, portupgrade will now register dependencies on gamin without actually installing it, leaving most users and portupgrade confused. This is because FAM_SYSTEM_FAM and FAM_SYSTEM_GAMIN use the same dependency file. - Gamin still only implements a subset of fam's functionality and until that changes should not become the default for POLA reasons (also it is not too uncommon even for desktop machines to want working file alteration monitoring on NFS directories). >How-To-Repeat: >Fix: >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted:
