i learned UNIX fundimentals on a BSD (FreeBSD 2.2.2) system when i was about 12,but i ran Linux at home first because i had a copy given to me. I like FreeBSD alot better than Linux because it's not trying to be a better Windows (ala KDE and GNOME), plus the license is alot less communist.
