    Hrmmm.... I had created an /etc/exports, then fired up mountd,
then grepped a "ps ax" and couldn't find it.  Probably something else
I missed... will it exit if the only entry in /etc/exports is bad
(e.g., invalid hostname)?  I had mistyped it the first time, then went
back to edit it and 'touch /var/db/mountdtab' at the same time.
