I upgraded from 3.0-R to 3-Stable with a make upgrade target in the /usr/src directory. I remade a new kernel, snd devices, and enabled the SB16 PnP which is my sound card. However, when I try to play music of any kind (except from the CD), the program ('play', mpg123, xamp, or whatever) just hangs. I don't understand what's happening... I also have curious messages appearing on the console such as: Mar 10 20:14:22 freed /kernel: timeout flushing dbuf_out, chan 5 cnt 0xff00 flags 0x00000141 More info: $ cat /dev/sndstat FreeBSD Audio Driver (981002) Mar 10 1999 19:24:57 Installed devices: pcm1: at 0x220 irq 10 dma 5:1 sequencer1: at 0x388 (not functional) $ Thanks!
