Its fair game to challenge and question advice as that is just as vital to learning as listening. Just as with a job interview, you should be interviewing the company just as hard as they are interviewing you in return. So if your advisor thinks its wise for you to produce a top ten list justifying FreeBSD then its just as valid for him/her to produce similar for NT before seeing your list. Think if I were doing the FreeBSD list the top item would be: FreeBSD is built upon well known mature standards which have stood the test of time. NT is a moving target known to poorly implement industry standards. Second item would be: I'm here to learn (presumably computer stuff). If there is any question about what is happening, with FreeBSD I have the ears of those who maintain the code. And I have access to the source code, the commit comments, and email list archives arguing the merits of A vs B which resulted in the current version. And any thing I don't like, I can change on my personal version. -- David Kelly N4HHE, dkelly@nospam.hiwaay.net ===================================================================== The human mind ordinarily operates at only ten percent of its capacity -- the rest is overhead for the operating system.
