The point here is that people usually don't have the right idea on
what is history worth preserving.  Not to use Sheldon, who's doing
great work in general, as an example, but whether it looks
"interesting" is really not an issue and I don't want people making
decisions based on faulty premises.

People, please ASK before you commit a related port if there is any
shadow of doubt.  (If you went to check the history of another port,
that's usually enough to cast the "shadow". :)  This is all I'm saying,
over and over and in the committer's guide.
