I have a 2.2.2-RELEASE machine which hangs or needs to be rebooted every 20 to 30 days. This time, it at least left a panic message : > Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode > fault virtual address = 0x4 > fault code = supervisor write, page not present > instruction pointer = 0x8:0xf01b038c > stack pointer = 0x10:0xefbffec4 > frame pointer = 0x10:0xefbffef0 > code segment = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b > = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1 > processor eflags = resume, IOPL = 0 > current process = Idle > interrupt mask = net tty bio It's a 486 DX4/120 with 24 MB of RAM, and one 800MB IDE drive. Can anyone shed any light as to what the problem is ? --- Khetan Gajjar - whois kg1779 | khetan@iafrica.com or khetan@os.org.za http://chain.iafrica.com/~khetan | PGPKey : finger khetan@chain.iafrica.com UUNET Internet Africa Support | FreeBSD enthusiast-www2.za.freebsd.org Unix is user friendly; it's just selective about who it calls a friend!
