This is starting to smell a bit like it may be tied to hardware. If you have two memory cards, you might want to try swapping them. If not, maybe let memtest86 run overnight. Yes, this is a total shot in the dark, but this one is really weird and when I see really weird, I start too look at hardware, especially memory and power supply.
