I do not object to diff-reduction changes (ok, it would be better if they were not neccessary in the first place, but that is another story). My problem with this change is quite simple: You mixed whitespace and content changes. I know it is a major pain, I am always tempted to do it the quick and dirty way when I am working on the en_US stuff myself, and I never stick to the rule when working on de_DE stuff (because we are the end of the line).
