I can confirm that the suspend/volume/brightness keyboard controls on the Z505LS don't work at all. I find this strange, since they work fine on older Z505 models. Also, the cooling fan is crazy on this thing! It turns on and off seemingly randomly, sometimes in 1-second intervals. APM is screwy--the battery percentage is correctly stated, but the remaining life jumps from 0 minutes up to tens of thousands, also randomly. Sony's been changing things for the worse again... I also got these syslog messages the other day: Apr 10 04:11:59 <0.2> tichy /kernel: Display off failure: errcode = 96 Apr 10 04:12:18 <0.2> tichy /kernel: Display off failure: errcode = 96 If there is anything I can do to help someone who's looking into this, please let me know. Attached is a dmesg from the system. Greg -- Gregory S. Sutter Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm mailto:gsutter@zer0.org for a day.
