Hmm, there was a problem with the driver
being programmed to support a polled mode,
where no interrupts were required. 

We found that many people never noticed,
that the driver was operating in a very
limited mode, since it was much faster
than an AH1542 anyway :)

But the final sync failed, since timers
had been stopped at that point in the 
shutdown process, and polling didn't work
anymore. 

Other than this, there shouldn't be such 
problems with the NCR driver ...
