X-Mailer: VM 6.34 under Emacs 20.2.1 Reply-To: marko@cs.uni-frankfurt.de Sender: owner-freebsd-stable@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG I tried using /stand/sysinstall to install XFree86 3.3.2 but for some reason that I did not find out it kept installing compat21 every time I tried and did not install XFree86 3.3.2. I downloaded the files and ran extract. With the XF86Config from the previous install I tried startx. I looked through the stuff that I downloaded and found that the new XF86_SVGA did not have the setuid bit set as the old one had. Setting it solved the problem for me. Now I am curious: should 3.3.2 run without the setuid bit set? Marko To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
