Doug Ledford is working on getting 7895 support into (probably) the 2.0.x kernel. He's getting (or already has) a motherboard with the 7895 chipset on it to aid in testing. I am going in another direction and working on creating a FreeBSD compatible layer for the aic7xxx driver. When done, I hope to be able to plug in the FreeBSD driver with little change to the code. Since FreeBSD has 7895 support already, 7895 support for Linux will also be obtained. Dan Eischen deischen@iworks.InterWorks.org
