Hi, Stacey! This problem occurs on FreeBSD-5, and is blamed (by the ICU developers) on the compiler. You can build ICU with the gcc-4.x, or configure glib to not use ICU. When the 6.2 port-freeze is over, I'll commit the work-around to the ICU port, which will build with gcc-4.x automatically on pre 6.1 versions of FreeBSD.
