No objection from me (I think we have discussed this before?) -- I
have committed this mainly for the sake of completeness and not
reviving a dead horse by beating it more =-)

Solaris do have it but it's considered for legacy compatibility
purposes.  It's perfectly fine if we move it to port on -HEAD.
