Butt 'J.D'" X-Sender: jbutt@boom.firecracker.com To: freebsd-questions@freebsd.org Subject: Serial Console Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG I am having some seemingly strange problems with 3.1-Release serial consoles.. with all 2.2.* stable/release machines we used to build the kernels with force_comconsole... It seems that has gone away in favor of the flags to sio.. with 0x20 set and the boot.config file existing I am able to get the boot: prompt on the console but after that I am unable to get the serial port to do anything.. I have tried every possible combination of boot flags (-D, -h, ect)... Then to make things more weird I am not able to to get a login prompt spawned on the serial port.. I have all of the settings right in /etc/ttys the getty is running.. I have done this all many many times under 2.2.* machines is there something large I am missing?? Yes I have searched the handbook and list archives.. Thank You. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- James D.
