I was wondering if any of you that are managing mail for many users can give
some advice as to the limits (number of user accounts) that a typical setup
can handle. Things like the type of server(proc/mem, disk, etc.) and the
number of accounts would be helpful. Also, any advice on how to go about
using multiple systems for mail servers would be helpful as well. We
currently have about 4,000 accounts on a lone linux server and it is
starting to bog down, and pop3 dies a couple of times a week. I need to be
able to handle about 10 - 15 thousand in a about 3 months so if anyone can
relay their experiences, I would be most appreciative.
Thanks in advance
Steven Martin
