When you cvsup to -STABLE and do a make world, the version of perl that is built is 5.00503. The problem is that more and more perl mods require 5.6 or higher. Even some stuff in ports which depends on perl requires 5.6 or higher. According to http://www.cpan.org/src/README.html the stable release of perl is 5.8.0. So whats going on?
