Have a look at the ScrL (Scroll Lock) key. Have you ever asked yourself what this key will do? Try it, press it! :-) Use the up / down and page up / page down arrow keys then. To relapse to normal operations, press ScrL again. While in ScrL mode, you can still enter data, but it won't be echoed to the terminal. You will see it after exiting ScrL mode.
