This is via 2.2.2-RELEASE cdrom install. Here is my dmegs: Feb 15 18:33:38 poboy /kernel: Probing for devices on PCI bus 0: Feb 15 18:33:38 poboy /kernel: chip0 rev 2 on pci0:0 Feb 15 18:33:38 poboy /kernel: pci0:3: Digital Equipment Corporation, device= 0x0019, class=network (ethernet) int a irq 10 [no driver assigned] Feb 15 18:33:38 poboy /kernel: chip1 rev 1 on pci 0:7:0 Feb 15 18:33:38 poboy /kernel: chip2 rev 0 on pci0 :7:1 Feb 15 18:33:38 poboy /kernel: vga0 rev 0 int a irq 10 on pci0:12:0 Feb 15 18:33:38 poboy /kernel: pci0:12:1: vendor=0x3d3d, device=0x0003, class=0x 0b, subclass=0x40 int a irq 10 [no driver assigned] Feb 15 18:33:38 poboy /kernel: vga1 rev 1 int a irq 10 on pci0: 12:2 Feb 15 18:33:38 poboy /kernel: chip3 rev 1 on pci0:20 i put a line: device de0 in the config file and recompiled kernel but to no avail. Reading the fine print the DC 21040 DEC ethernet is supported, but no mention of the 21142/43 Any clues on where to go from here? Looks like it is getting probed but no driver getting assigned? Do all the other ethernet devices need to be excluded? Thanks, dave ps: this is a dual cpu MB but i only have one ppro200 cpu currently in it.
