The curses header file on your Linux system probably has
#ifdef __cplusplus
extern "C" {
#endif
... declarations
#ifdef __cplusplus
}
#endif
in it, whereas FreeBSD's does not. In your code, you can try
extern "C" {
#include <curses.h>
}
or uses <ncurses.h> which has the extern "C" stuff.
