The problem is that I can't change the volume of the pcm0 device (dsp0, mixer0, etc). The volume is constant, no matter which way I try to change it ('mixer', volume control in xmms, volume control in mplayer). Yes, mplayer is recompiled after upgrading -stable. The pcm1 device (built in soundcard) works normally.
