Hey all; Perhaps this question isn't so dumb... But the actions leading to it are :-) To make a long story short, I got two keyboards confused and used Ctrl-Alt-Del to attempt to log in to an NT machine. Turns out I rebooted my FreeBSD machine :-) Is there a way (perhaps in the kernel, though I didn't see anything in LINT--and I didn't go looking through sources, either. If not in the kernel, where DOES that hook? Boot loader?) to disable the default Ctrl-Alt-Del combination to prevent inadvertant shutdowns? Or, is there some obscure reason I why shouldn't do this? I don't know if this is a -hackers question or not, so I'm posting it here. I'd much rather just be able to manually reboot by issuing a reboot command from within a shell.
