I got my modem to dial in now what?
Am I connected correctly?
When I pick up the telephone I hear that shrieking noise,
it seems to be holding a connetion.
How do I now start say a telnet session with ubunix.buffalo.edu?
At another prompt, also as root, I type in # telnet ubunix.buffalo.edu
and I get a no route to host error.
I have a single computer at home and am dialing in
using a PPP connection.
Is there a way to eliminate that domain server stuff for now
and enter the numeric IP addresses manually to
help narrow down the problem?
I've had it, please help...

Bill
