Yes. pango was marked BROKEN because it uses some freetype2 internals and as a result was killed by the recent freetype2
upgrade. If you really need it you may try to install older pre-compiled package instead.

BTW, I have a plan to upgrade pango and gtk13/glib13 to the latest released versions, but due to time perssure I am unable
to tell more precisely when it may happen.
