Wcarchive's kernel is very close to stock except for a few parameter tweaks which aren't appropriate for general use. This hasn't always been true, however. I often develop performance enhancements for wcarchive and slowly merge them into -current as appropriate. I just haven't had any reason to do this recently since we ran out of bandwidth and the machine is plenty fast enough to keep up with current demands. -DG David Greenman Co-founder/Principal Architect, The FreeBSD Project - http://www.freebsd.org Creator of high-performance Internet servers - http://www.terasolutions.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
