I have a UPS for each of my computers except the laptop, which uses a battery as a UPS. I get typically two or three hits per day big enough to make the UPS squeal, and one or two a week that will make my stereo lose radio station presets. > Mounting your drives async is not going to suddenly cause random bit > corruption in your files. No, but power glitches, brown-outs and sags can. Feel lucky you don't get your electrons from "Utah Flicker and Flash." -- "Where am I, and what am I doing in this handbasket?"
