Well, I'd like to say that the best way to find out if it's compatible with your hardware is to download the 1 disk floppy from the Internet, and boot it. It has a GENERIC kernel on it that will probe for devices. This alone will probably give you more technical detail than any Compaq doc you'll ever find. If you don't already own it, let me STRONGLY suggest that you buy the "The Complete FreeBSD" book. It helped me a lot.
