Counting me, that makes three. Based on personal experience, just go ahead and do it. I tried your approach when I tried setting up a UK FreeBSD user group. Response from the mailing lists was apathetic. Then Lee Johnston did exactly the right thing, and set up some mailing lists and a website and announced that the UK UG existed. Suddenly people came crawling out of the woodwork to subscribe :-) N -- Internet connection, $19.95 a month. Computer, $799.95. Modem, $149.95. Telephone line, $24.95 a month. Software, free. USENET transmission, hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Thinking before posting, priceless. Somethings in life you can't buy.
