Also used are "krans athlete" or "mielie cruncher" (crunchie). Us English-speaking ZA-ans are often called "rooinekke"; the term means almost the exact opposite of the US "redneck" - it refers to soft, pale Englishmen having a hard time in the African sun while our more rugged counterparts - the "boers" handled it better with their well-established tans. The worst insult (hehehehe!) for an English-speaker in ZA is "soutie". It is an abbreviation of "soutpiel" (if you know this word, great, if not, ask me offlist). It refers to the (ZA)Englisman's supposed position of having one foot in ZA, one foot in UK, and certain dangling parts of the anatomy in the NaCl of the Atlantic ocean.
