See You'll also find a pointer to it in the "Using 'make world' to rebuild your system" part of the Handbook. That, in conjunction with 'mergemaster' in the ports should be more than adequate. I've not heard of anyone have problems upgrading /etc using my tutorial and Doug's mergemaster script.
