I upgraded release 3.1 to release 3.3 When I rebooted I had to specify kernel.GENERIC to boot. Thats fine and dandy, when it came to my login prompt none of my old logins worked. So now, I'm locked out of my machine. How can I go about restoring my old passwd file?
