To: freebsd-questions@freebsd.org Date: Sat, 1 Feb 1997 12:18:09 -0500 (EST) From: jlido@vt.edu (Jon Lido) Reply-To: jlido@vt.edu X-Mailer: ELM [version 2.4 PL24 ME8a] MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-questions@freebsd.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk I'm really aching to get the JDK installed on my machine. I need it for my job. Unfortunately, I'm not running -current, so the port doesn't work for me. I have access to Motif libraries, but sadly the "port" isn't really a "port" as far as the ports collection are concerned, but rather a pre-compiled set of programs. I'd like to get my hands on the source code and patches applied to make these binaries. Is the JDK not distributed like that? Do I have to sign a non-disclosure agreement with Javasoft or something? Who is responsible for the FreeBSD JDK port? Thanks! -Jon
