Hi,

i had a similar problem as reported by Tomi Vainio on 27.09.2002
with a CF-PCMCIA Adapter and a Sandisk 64MB CF Card with NEWCARD on a
- -current of ~ 20.09.2002:

(This is a Thinkpad X20)

pccard0: Allocation failed for cfe 0
ata2 at port 0x100-0x10f irq 11 function 0 config 1 on pccard0
pccard0: WARNING: Resource not reserved by pccard bus
device_probe_and_attach: ata2 attach returned 6

On todays Current i get on Insertion:

pccard0: Allocation failed for cfe 0
ata2 at port 0x100-0x10f irq 11 function 0 config 1 on pccard0
ad4: 61MB <SanDisk SDCFB-64> [490/8/32] at ata2-master BIOSPIO

On todays Current i get on Boot:

pccard0: Allocation failed for cfe 0
ata2 at port 0x100-0x10f irq 11 function 0 config 1 on pccard0
ad0: 19077MB <HITACHI_DK23BA-20B> [41344/15/63] at ata0-master UDMA33
ad4: READ command timeout tag=3D0 serv=3D0 - resetting
ata2: resetting devices ..
done
ad4: read interrupt arrived early
ad4: read error detected (too) late
ad4: <SanDisk SDCFB-64> [490/8/32] at ata2-master BIOSPIO
ad4: hard error cmd=3Dread fsbn 104458130 of 0-3
   status=3D51 error=3D10
ad4: 51004MB <SanDisk SDCFB-64> [21318/70/70] at ata2-master BIOSPIO

at that point the kernel hangs :-)

If i insert the card after the boot Process i can work on it without
any Problems...

Stephan
